Private Pilot Certificate

Your private pilot certificate opens the door to the exciting world of personal aviation & air travel.

As a private pilot, you can fly yourself, friends, & family to any airport in the US. You can rent a plane, buy your own, or form an aircraft partnership. A private pilot can fly for pleasure, incidental to their business, and may carry passengers. Passengers may share costs with the pilot. However, a private pilot may not receive compensation or be hired to carry passengers or property.

During your initial consultation, we’ll explain what’s required to complete training. Below is a summary of our program & the FAA Requirements:

Complete an approved ground school

  • Gold Seal Online Ground School

  • 1:1 in-person Ground Instruction

  • Group Training Usually Available

At least 40-hours of total flight time to include

At least 20 hours of flight instruction which includes specific training for

  • Fundamental maneuvers and pre-solo training

  • Cross Country flight training

  • fly by reference to instruments

  • fly at night

  • 3-hours in preparation for the practical exam

10-hours flying solo to include

  • 5-hours cross country flight (to airports more than 50nm away)

  • 1 long cross country flight to 2 airports and return to base

Complete several exams

  • FAA Knowledge exam

  • Pre-Solo Knowledge Test

  • Compl the FAA Private Pilot Airman Knowledge Test

  • FAA Practical Test
